11/5/08 Observation

-One rather large worm-like organism was observed feeding on particles in the bottom of the aquarium.
- Another one of the same organism could be seen thrashing about in open water. This creature was possibly molting or dying. I could not determine at the time.
- Many of the original organisms could not be found alive. The plethora of rodifers, for example, were basically all dead. A lot of there exoskeletons could still be seen clinging to the spirogira. I could find no cyclops present in the tank, or really anything besides the segmented worm creatures that were dominating the aquarium.

Term Project Observations

10/15/08

After setting up my Microaquarium, I put it under a microscope and began my observation. I noticed many small, cockroach-looking organisms swimming around and consuming food. They had translucent bodies, and one could see their digestive track. This track was very simple, and only consisted of one long tube throughout the organism's body.

10/21/08

The first observed "cockroach" is no longer present. Perhaps it was eaten or just died off.
However, many smaller organisms are now appearing. Waterfleas, rodifers, and some form of planaria can all be seen. Spirogira can also be seen and is about to reproduce.
